If you haven’t tried this quick no-egg cake, you’ll be a fan soon enough. It is easy to make, pretty low-effort, and you’ll have a delicious baked good at the end. No need to worry about the other ingredients either, as they are all probably already in your pantry.
This Quick No-Egg Cake is The Perfect Low-Effort Treat
Let’s start baking!
First, you’ll want to make sure you have your sugar ready. This recipe uses granulated sugar, but anything you already have at home can do the trick. Some good solutions are brown sugar, molasses, or even honey.
As for the cocoa powder, this cake has an intense, but tasty chocolate and coffee flavor, so you may want to add it if you have it. However, there are other things to add instead that may be easier. Some examples include Nesquick, chocolate syrup, or any instant mix. In a pinch, even melted chocolate can work.
The coffee here is optional, but why not use it if you already have leftover coffee from this morning? You can also add instant coffee to the cocoa mix or make a quick cup and use it. The flavor of the cocoa and coffee together is unique.
You may also be wondering, why you use white vinegar? In this case, the acidity helps bind and acts as a leavening agent. You can replace it for other acid foods, like lemon or lime juice, or cream of tartar if you have it.
When it comes to the all-purpose flour, you can use any other flour you want. Some good suggestions include cake flour, bread flour, almond flour, or potato flour. Even pancake mix can work, but remember that this may alter the cake’s final look.
Finally, you can add pecans, chocolate chips, or toffee pieces as a topping. Although not necessary, you can also use other toppings like M&Ms, peanut butter cup pieces, sprinkles, or whatever else you like.
This cake will take about 45 minutes to make, and you’ll have a tasty treat with little effort and money invested. Enjoy for a birthday, a snack, or dessert!
