Making these peanut butter and chocolate balls takes little effort, but they are also a healthy snack. If you want to treat your kids, or yourself, to a homemade snack, these are a perfect choice.
Don’t worry, you don’t need to be an expert baker, all you need is a few ingredients from your pantry.
These Peanut Butter and Chocolate Balls Will Cheer Everyone Up This Week!
Chunky peanut butter, anyone?
As you may have noticed by now, the chunky peanut butter is the main ingredient.
Although you do need something sticky and nutty, it can be almond butter, cashew butter, or even sunflower butter if you want. Just make sure that you replace the baking time depending on what you choose.
Let’s talk about oats!
The rolled oats in this recipe add a crunchy toasted flavor to this dessert or snack. You can swap them though, if you need to. Use toasted halved almonds, pistachios, or peanuts.
And what about the apples?
The crushed dehydrated apples here play a sweet and sour role, but they can be replaced if you don’t have any. Choose any other fruit that you can cut small or into pieces, such as dried pineapple, banana chips, or strawberries.
In a pinch, use cranberries, raisins, or any other dry berry you enjoy!
Finally, bring on the chocolate and seasoning
The chocolate here is used for drizzling, but you can use whatever you prefer, such as white chocolate or cocoa.
If this isn’t an option, you can skip the chocolate or add chocolate syrup instead.
Finally, the sweetness here comes from the vanilla extract mixed with the chocolate. If you don’t have any, use almond extract, or a bit of honey or maple syrup.
Cinnamon can be left out if you don’t like it, but consider adding powdered sugar or vanilla instead. That’s it, you’re now ready to eat delicious healthy snack bites that taste like heaven.
